Real World Facts

KNOW THIS:

-Somewhere,someone is training or planning to hurt someone. If you don't train to REALLY defend yourself and you meet him...you lose.

- Self defense is not a choice, it's a responsibility. However it's your life if you want to gamble against the odds in our current world situation.

- Most traditional arts and their self defense programs DON'T! work in today's world.

- Don't rely on inflicting pain based techniques, especially in escapes. They may look cool in the dojo, but on the street the attackers are charged, enraged, high, drunk, so inflicting pain is a ridiculous concept when dealing with people not feeling pain. And know they don't fall down for you like your demonstration partner in the dojo, you actually have to put them down and keep them there, you must know how to control their body movement and shut them down all the way to the end, to turn the attacker into victim, a big commitment, CAN YOU?

- Unless you lived in rural China or Korea 200 years ago, high and flying kicks are not suited for today's world. They were used to kick invading soldiers off horseback, not needed too much today.

- Are your techniques focused on the wrist/elbow and after an incoming attack? These techniques were used to disarm incoming sword attacks. The wrist area was usually the only area not protected or shielded. You need more than this, unless you're living in 18th century Japan, or have a problem with Samurai in your neighborhood.

- Gravity doesn't lie, and the ground never misses.

- Memorized patterns, high kicks and fancy techniques don't teach you how to fight.

- Breaking and hitting things that don't hit back. What's with that? "The best way to get good is to do the act itself ". Bruce Lee.
Not street fighting, but real techniques with real people for practice. And don't beat up the air, it really is our best friend and we need it.

- Most so-called experts are not even close. Research your teachers experience in the real world, not his belt color, "awards", number of students, schools or trophies.

-Your attacker doesn't care about your belt color or how many belts or anything else.

-THE STREET HAS NO RULES, THE TROPHY IS YOUR LIFE.
